An almost a run a ball 41 from Dan Hinkley combined with wonderful coolness under pressure from George Brady and Hannah Jones with the bat guided the 5s to a tense victory at DSG against a team pushing for promotion in the league above us.

Romiley 2s had been restricted to 96-9 off 20 overs after the spin trio of George, Hannah and Haris ripped the heart out of Romiley's batting line-up. Rehmani bowled accurately although only 1 wicket was taken in the first 10 overs and Romiley were well set at 53-1 and looked to post an imposing total. From then on, our spinners kept them in check regular taking wickets (George (3), Hannah (2) and Haris (2)). The team displayed great fielding skills and excellent catching.

Didsbury started slowly with the bat reaching 46-4 off 12.3 overs with only Viraj getting to double figures. Then a partnership between Rehmani and Dan Hinkley got us to 78 before another mini collapse going from 82-5 to 89-9 and 8 needed off the final over. Hannah Jones found gaps for 2 2s and then a majestic on-drive for 4 sealed the game.

A great result with an excellent all-round team performance, and we look forward to the next round match vs Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge 2s on the 4th July.
