After losing the toss and being asked to field, Didsbury struck at regular intervals although Cheadle Hulme's opener Zubair played an excellent innings of 74 on a slow pitch and steered his side to healthy target of 170. There was also a valuable contribution from Adil who struck 42 in quick time. The wickets were shared around with debutant Charlie Wild taking 2-14. Naj bowled with good pace, although did no-ball a number of times, including one which bowled Zubair.
Didsbury set about the task in a watchful manner with only 12 on the board after 6 overs. James Johnston regular found the boundary before missing one that came back in. Stuart Green was just hitting his stride when he played a little early on one as was caught at mid-wicket. Meanwhile Tristan George, playing his first innings for Didsbury, was watchful and combined with JP, pushed the score up to 70 before Tristan was caught. Dan Hinkley joined JP and the pair put on 44 before Dan was caught at extra cover. JP eased to his 50 with a single through the covers while at the other end Andy Wharton hit two sixes before being bowled trying to cut one too close to his stumps. By now the target was well in sight and Haris decided he would finish things with a massive 6 over cow-corner. JP rode his luck as he was dropped twice and ended up on 76.
A solid team performance and great to get the first win of the season.
