Hi all,

Didsbury Cricket Club will be hosting its inaugural world cup day in support and promotion of the 2019 world cup.

Four mixed teams will compete in a round robin tournament for the first ever DCC world cup tournament. Teams will be drawn on the day The players are recommended to read the rules before the playing day. Everyone MUST bring a packed lunch. As follows (This will be communicated VERY CLEARLY on the day):

10 overs per side
2 overs max per bowler (A different bowler must bowl 2 overs in each of the matches).
Every bowler (Excluding Keeper if wanted ) Must bowl at least 1 over per match.
Retire at 20, or after 15 balls. Retired batsman may come back in.
Wides+No-balls= 3 extra runs but no extra ball (Except in the last over).
All no-balls= Free hit whereby the batsman cannot be out to attribute of the bowler (Can be out run out).
No more than 4 fielders past the 25 metre circle.
Each team will have just 30 minutes to bowl their overs. If an innings fails to start or finish on time there will be 5 penalty runs added to the team at fault. An extra 5 runs will be added for every minute that the innings starts or finishes late.

Points System
Win= 5 Points
Win by more than 30 runs (Batting first)= 8 Points (Instead of 5 indicated previously)
Chasing the score in less than 7 overs (Batting Second)= 8 Points (Instead of 5 at the top)
5+ Wickets as a team= 3 bonus points regardless of result
50+ runs as a team= 3 bonus points regardless of result

The team finishing first on the day will take on the team that finished 2nd in a super over to decide the overall winner of our world cup day. The team finishing first will start on the number of points they are ahead of the team finishing second.

9.30-10.00: England Lions V Australia Kangaroos (Innings 1).
10.05-10.35: New Zealand Kiwis V West Indies Wildcards (Innings 1).
10.45-11.15: England Lions V Australia Kangaroos
11.20-11.50: New Zealand Kiwis V West Indies Wildcards

12-12.30: England Lions V New Zealand Kiwis
12.35-1.05: Australia Kangaroos V West Indies Wildcards
1.15-1.45: England Lions V New Zealand Kiwis
1.50-2.20: Australia Kangaroos V West Indies Wildcards

30 minute break

2.50-3.20: West Indies Wildcards V England Lions
3.25-3.55: New Zealand Kiwis V Australia Kangaroos
4.05-4.35: West Indies Wildcards V England Lions
4.40-5.10: New Zealand Kiwis V Australia Kangaroos

5.15-5.30: Super over match, 1st place versus 2nd place.

Super over rules

Wides/no-balls: 3 runs +extra ball+ free hit in event of no-balls.
1 bowler bowls 1 over.
Batting team can only afford to lose 1 wicket.
