It was youth to the fore (literally) as the 4s kept their promotion campaign at full steam with an 88 run win at Romiley on Sunday.
Two 14 yr olds opened, Kush Patel leading off with a dazzling 30-ball 38 (inc. 3x6 & 4x4) before Tanmay Seth and 13 yr old no.3 Krishav Rangaraju combined to add a magnificent unbroken 190 for the second wkt, Tanmay finishing on 108* (121 bs, 1x6, 13x4) and Krishav 63* (91 bs, 7x4), the 4s 236-1 in their 40 overs.
Two other 14 yr olds, Aaron Grimbaldeston and Ashden Johnson, then produced a pacy opening burst, three wkts between them and a run out leaving Romiley in tatters at 12-4, a delighted skipper claiming the final wicket and reflecting on a league table which shows the 4s need 12 more pts to finish second.
