Bowden Vale v Bulls

The Bulls triumphed at Bowdon Vale on Friday thanks to some powerful batting and bowling. It was a team effort and all 11 players either scored runs or took wickets.

Taha set the scene with an explosive start sending his 15th delivery to the bovine vertex to bring up his 30 and retirement in the fifth over! Together with Max, 50 were scored in the first five overs. Harry and Raheem took over combining boundaries with excellent running for singles. Harry reached 30 and retirement, including 5 fours. Raheem kept the board ticking over with singles, then hit 3 fours before falling for 25. Fin, Aahil, Henrik and Sulaiman swung selflessly at the end to post a very useful 143 off the 20 overs.

The start of the second innings was similarly eventful and, by the end of the first over, Max had bowled three batsmen to leave Bowdon Vale 0 for 3. In the third over, this became 4 for 4 and Max had 4 for 0 bowling with good pace. The lower order put up a spirited fight back but some excellent bowling from Sulaiman (1 wicket), Oliver (2 wickets) and George (1 wicket) ensured the game was not in danger. Adam finished the game by disturbing the stumps for the seventh bowled of the innings.

Five players took wickets and a different three players scored 25 or more. A great team effort and victory by 50 runs!
